A Smart City Education Platform Built with LEGO® Bricks Online
Join us for an interactive demo of a 1:45 scale smart city built with 100% LEGO® bricks. The city provides students with a learning sandbox to apply their trades. Projects have included autonomous driving cars, a working GPS system, and an AI-generated radio station. The project has resulted in 20+ cross-program collaborations, 10+ paid part-time jobs, three research grants, and an innovative new teaching method. Presenters will illustrate how this project has pushed the limitations of LEGO® bricks related to code and innovation and provided a platform for a new innovative teaching method.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain what the Smart City Development Platform built with LEGO® bricks is and how it is used to provide workforce relevant hands-on learning for students.
- Understand how this project facilities cross disciplinary and close to industry projects.
- Utilize code and AI prompts to generate live radio station content.
Note: Webinars are only available to individuals at NISOD member colleges.
